Park officials say job openings include for ride operators, lifeguards, grounds crew and staffers for admissions, games and food stands. Most of the positions available are for people who will be at least 16 years old by April. The park in the Spencer County town of Santa Claus is adding Princeton to the communities from which it offers bus service for employees. Other bus service stops include Huntingburg, Newburgh, Boonville, Evansville and Tell City, along with Owensboro, Kentucky. The park about 35 miles east of Evansville is scheduled to open April 25, with the water park opening May 13.

Its also a fundraiser for a young man paralyzed in a devastating hockey accident last year. It shows what kind of people they are and what kind of community we live in and how much support Ive got, Mikey Nichols said. Nichols never dreamed hed see his name in lights, but for the last month a holiday set up put together by Bill Kloos and his brother Ryan has been all for him. Its an effort to raise money for the 18-year-olds recovery from a paralyzing spinal cord injury suffered last January. A check of nearly $14,000 was presented to Nichols and his family on Friday night. These people are, theyre so nice and gracious to me, he said. Its tremendous. We have expenses that weve never had before and we never planned for, Mikeys mother Christine said. The Kloos brothers started the display a decade ago and for the last 5 years theyve collected donations for different charities.
