Holiday World Runs Test Launch For New Roller Coaster - Tristatehomepage - Eyewitness News

Holiday World says their new roller coaster is flying high with success after its first test launch. 20 water-filled test dummies got the ride of their lives as they experienced the first flight of the nations only launched-wing roller coaster. As the snow from last week thawed, Thunderbird roared to life and launched its first train 14 stories into the cloudless sky, completing a full ride circuit on its first try. This is a huge milestone for us," says Holiday World President Matt Eckert. "Thunderbird is the greatest investment weve made since we opened in 1946. Thunderbird is Holiday Worlds first major steel roller coaster. It boasts a zero-to-60 miles-per-hour launch in 3.5 seconds, followed by loops, rolls, and inversions. Holiday World opens April 25 with the premiere of Thunderbird. Splashin Safari opens May 13.

The Argonaut ? Holiday break bus

The office provides a chartered bus to transport UI and Washington State University students to the Portland and Vancouver areas by way of the Tri-Cities. The bus will stop in Kennewick, The Dalles and Hood River. In Idaho, the bus route first stops in New Meadows before heading to Boise. One of the buses ends its transport in Boise, while the other goes past Boise, making stops throughout the interstate to end in Idaho Falls.

Holiday Inn Riverfront Hotel nears completion in Owensboro - Tri-State News, Weather & Sports

Lin Gate Hospitality officials say the new hotel and Another Broken Egg Cafe will open toward the last week of March. The major construction is finished. Now crews are focusing on the final steps. They're bringing in the furniture, and installing fixtures and smaller kitchen equipment. The building will undergo a deep cleaning soon after that. Many people in Owensboro say they are excited about the progress and look forward to the grand opening. John Condray lives and owns a business in downtown Owensboro. We are really excited about the opening of another hotel downtown. Especially, they're going to have another restaurant, which is fantastic.
